1. Congrats to the Sydney Convicts on winning the 2014 Bingham Cup.
The team dominated the final match with 31-0 over the Brisbane Hustlers.
An estimated 6,000 people came to watch the final day of the tournament and were rewarded with a warm, sunny day after two days of intense rain and mud.
It was a great day (and weekend) for the LGBT community in the world of sports. Not only did a number of government officials and top players from the professional world of rugby turn out for the finals but the IRB officially recognized the three-day tournament and all five major Aussie sports leagues signed a commitment to end homophobia in sport.
