1. Year In Review: 14 Things BuzzFeed Taught Me In 2012.
(On a side note: I still can’t believe IWK has over 30K followers, Texts From Hillary became a thing, I now work at BuzzFeed and I got to meet/interview the cast of “Bachelorette” [among other things]. What a crazy year.)

  4. BuzzFeed Music: Full Year End Stuff! →

    perpetua:

I’ve spent a lot of time over the past few weeks putting together a lot of year-end coverage. I took this pretty seriously, since it’s an opportunity to convey a lot of the editorial voice for the vertical I’m running. I’m pretty happy with how all of this turned out, and I think it sets up a lot of what to expect as the music section expands in the coming year.

44 Wonderful Things About Music in 2012 - This is the big list, meant to highlight the scope of exciting things that happened in popular music through the past year, across several genres and ways of experiencing music.

22 Great Albums You Might Have Missed in 2012 - You could look at this as the runners-up, I suppose, but it’s really more a way of putting a spotlight on artists who people might have honestly overlooked, even the stuff that’s actually pretty well known. This is, as of right now, the most popular of the year-end posts, which is a nice surprise.

23 Best Music Videos of 2012 - This is pretty self-explanatory.

The Ultimate 2012 Playlist - This is also self-explanatory.

In addition to all of that, we also published a bunch of essays about notable artists and records.
