Some dude's approach to pop culture, entertainment and queer news
Sylvia Robinson, the mother of hip hop, is dead at 76.
Credited with producing the first rap song “Rapper’s Delight” -and launching a multi-billion dollar genre- Sylvia also had her own successful R&B/Pop career as half of the duo, Sylvia and Mickey. The group was best known for their hit, “Love is Strange,” which was later featured on the Dirty Dancing soundtrack.
Read more about her fascinating career in a tribute from Vanity Fair.
